We at 911Tutorials are VERY excited to announce that we have finally reached the 1,000 tutorials mark! This is a very important milestone for us and we will work hard to ensure that 911Tutorials keeps growing. As they say the sky is the limit, and we will do our best to achieve the best we can.

We would like to thank everyone that helped us get to this milestone, the visitors, the contributors, Google (ofcourse!) etc… We hope that you will carry on finding this site a useful resource.

I hope everyone is doing well. Today I’d like to bring to your attention 2 new updates for the site and make a request to members of our site.

First of all, we have now added profile pages for all of our members. This can be accessed by viewing the tutorial details by clicking on the “X comments” under the description of tutorials, and then clicking on your username. Right now the profile page lists the tutorials you submitted, and some statistics about your account. In the near future we will add the ability for you to specify an external URL for your avatar, and specify some more information about yourself.

The second update is that we have added the ability to post comments on tutorials. This is strictly for members only and all HTML within comments will be deactivated. Hopefully the comments feature will allow members to interact with each other more and give feedback to one another.

The request we would like to make is for members who are submitting tutorials without specifying a thumbnail URL. The thumbnail needs to be hosted on an external source, and a valid URL need to be specified. Please do not try and upload from your computer as some people seem to be doing this. The reason we strongly advise you double check this is because if you have specified an invalid URL, we not review your submission for a long time as it takes a lot of effort on our side to find and upload the thumbnail for you. We will review your listing, but obviously submissions with thumbnails take priority.

Soon we will also be adding a featured tutorial section on our site, so this is in fact in part, preparation for that.

Anyway the site is now growing fast with tutorials being submitted everyday - so much so that we are falling behind in the approval process!!! We hope that you will continue to find this site useful.

We’d just like to say a big thank you to all of our members that have taken the time to submit their tutorials so that others can find them.

There is still a lot of room for improvement, such as working on getting more tutorials for other sections other than the Photoshop tutorials section.

We are still working hard on improving the site so please be patient and support us in the future!

In the future we will monitor searches more closely and track everything that’s going on to give you a better tag cloud that better represents the user activity.

One thing we’ve noticed is that not many people are leaving ratings for the tutorials. It would be great if you could help out distinguish the good tutorials from the bad so that other visitors to the site now which ones are the best of the crop!

We will be adding a comment feature soon, so you can leave your 2 cents about a tutorial but for now ratings alone would be great!

We hope you will start rating tutorials and help us build a good thriving community.

If you have already downloaded the 911Tutorials toolbar then this won’t be much news to you but for those of you that haven’t downloaded the toolbar (which we recommend you do!) this will be a new thing to play with!

To access random tutorials just load the following page, each time it loads, i.e. refreshes, it will show you a different tutorial!

Currently we and tutorial authors are adding tutorials mainly for Photoshop and Flash. If you would like to see us focus on adding content for other categories please contact us by leaving a comment! We will do our best to satisfy your needs!

We will carry on working hard on the site and hope that you will stay with us in the future.

For example, if you go to the Photoshop Tutorials section you will notice that there are 3 random tutorials shown at the bottom of the page, below the 10 latest tutorials and page navigation.

The aim of this section is to give all tutorials the change to be seen by visitors every once in a while, including the older tutorials.
